You know your pet better than anyone. If you feel his or her medical condition is serious and cannot wait, seek emergency care immediately. As pet owners ourselves, we know emergency situations don’t always happen at the most convenient times.
If you have an emergency or merely unsure if you do have an emergency after normal business hours, you can call the animal hospital’s regular number for assistance. If you do not have time to wait for someone to call you back, you can also call the emergency facility listed below.

During our regular business hours, the medical staff and resources at Sequoyah Animal Hospital are available to help you with any emergency your pet experiences. If possible, please call in advance so we can prepare for your arrival.
The following general situations should help you determine if you need to seek emergency care for your pet:
- Acute abdominal swelling
- Bleeding
- Difficulty breathing
- Electric shock
- Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
- Exhibits symptoms of heat stroke
- Seizures
- Sudden onset of weakness
- Temperature above 104-degrees or below 100-degrees
- Unable to urinate or defecate
